Coordinator + Marketing Coordinator
Founded
100 years ago in 1910, International House Philadelphia is an
independent, non-profit organization housing nearly 400 students,
scholars and interns from over 65 countries. We provide
a unique residential experience that supports their development
as future leaders by offering a full spectrum of programs that
create individuals able to work and interact successfully with
people from all backgrounds. To support both our residents
and the Greater Philadelphia community, IHP has long been the
premiere presenter of international arts and cultural programs.
International
House Philadelphia is a multicultural residential center, a

while introducing them to the American experience; to broaden
the horizons of its residents and the larger community through
high quality international arts and humanities programs and

DEVELOPMENT
COORDINATOR
IHP
is seeking a Development Coordinator to support
our Director of Development in all department functions.
The
Development Coordinator will:
Coordinate and carry out daily
office procedures including gift accounting, gift acknowledgement,
reporting, and database support;
Work closely with Director of
Development to identify prospecting priorities and research
individuals, corporations and foundations;
Organize assignments and follow-up
process for Director of Development;
Draft appeals, acknowledgement
letters, articles, and other correspondence in coordination
with Director of Development;
Act as the Administrative support
for the Development Department.
Responsibilities
include:
Daily
- Greet in person
or by phone, any member of the community contacting the Development
Office;
- Record and
acknowledge all gifts daily including cash, pledges, stock
transfer, and in-kind;
- Process credit
card payments and online gifts;
- Provide organizational
and computer support to department;
- Coordinate
postage, schedule, and organization of development mailings.
Weekly
or Monthly
- Process invoices
and keep departmental budget;
- Keep development
database up-to-date with changes of address, status, and residence;
- Maintain postage
due, business reply, and bulk mail accounts;
- Maintain office
supplies and inventory for general use and mailings.
Projects
- Maintain RSVP
lists for special events;
- Support the
development department with special event logistics;
- Support other
departments at the House with mailings etc as needed.
Education
and Experience:
- BA/BS is required
and a minimum of two years of experience in a professional
development position.
- The ideal
candidate will have demonstrated data and gift processing
experience, as well as the ability to learn IHP’s database
Results Plus; and will possess excellent interpersonal, communication,
and decision-making skills.
- Some experience
in event planning; good public speaking ability; strong time-management
skills; the ability to multi-task; and self-motivation is
required.
- Will also
have strong computer skills including expertise in MS Office,
especially Excel, and the ability to learn and effectively
use new software programs.
- A working
knowledge of volunteer management including strategies for
recruiting, training, and supporting a diverse group of volunteers
is also highly preferred.
- Providing
outstanding customer service and being able to build lasting
relationships with internal and external customers is a must.
Should be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities,
and meet deadlines with little supervision.
- Willingness
to work evenings and weekends.
- This is a
temporary position for 6 months, with the possibility to turn
into a full time position.

MARKETING
COORDINATOR
IHP
is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to support
our Director of Marketing in all department functions.
The
Marketing Coordinator will:
Coordinate and carry out daily
office procedures;
Work closely with Director of
Marketing to execute and manage all marketing collateral development
and strategies;
Organize assignments and follow-up
process for Director Marketing;
Act as the Administrative support
for the Marketing Department.
Essential
Marketing Functions
- Execute tactics
included in the strategic marketing plan that integrate
development and marketing to maximize brand recognition and
public support for IHP’s mission.
- Act as the
liaison between the IHP’s marketing department, the design
firm and external vendors.
- Implement
and calculate metrics of measurements in order to evaluate
the effectiveness of all Marketing activities and outreach.
- Write and
edit creative briefs and press releases; oversee media communications;
and cultivate relationships with members of the press to increase
public awareness.
- Prepare status
reports on marketing efforts; analyze results and work with
Director of Marketing to refine strategies.
- Oversee, update
and monitor IHP’s online presence including, website, emarketing,
and social media tools.
- Identify and
research potential collaboration and sponsorship opportunities.
Responsibilities
include:
Daily

acknowledge all requests submitted by snail mail and e-mail;
- Provide organizational
and computer support to department;
- Participate
in the editing and proofing process to help provide quality
control for all marketing materials;
- Coordinate
postage, schedule, and organization of marketing mailings;
- Update IHP
website and social media networking sites with fresh content;
- Monitor and
manage IHP Shop materials and inventory; re-order and replenish
supplies as needed.

degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, or related
field.
- Proficiency
in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
- Knowledge
of social networking applications and skills in Internet research.
- Must be a
good team player with the ability to work on own initiative.
- Demonstrated
excellence in oral and written communications skills, time-management
and customer service.
- Must possess
the ability to multi-task and work well in fast-paced matrix/team
environment.
- Should be
