Young Friends of International
House and the National Association of Asian American Professionals
mingled and networked over dim sum and rice wine under vibrant,
traditional laterns and other decorations with IHouse resident
scholars from around the world. Two International House
Chinese residents kicked the evening off by discussing the unique
characteristics of rice wine and its history. They then
said a toast in Mandarin Chinese and everyone had their first
cup of wine from Xiao Xing in mainland China. Guests also
learned the history of dim sum and its place in Chinese culture
from a representative of Ocean Harbor Restaurant and watched
preparation demonstration by an Ocean Harbor chef.
Thank
you to our sponsors: Assortment of dim sum provided
by Ocean Harbor Restaurant. Beer was compliments
of Tsing Tao.
