Single rooms offer
the ideal balance between privacy and friendly community living.
Single rooms are 9' x 12' (2.73m x 3.64m) and are fully furnished
with a bed, desk and chair, dresser, closet, bookshelves, bulletin
board and lamps. A large window covers an entire wall.
Ten single rooms are grouped in a suite. Each suite includes
a shared bathroom with two private toilets, one shower, one
bathtub/shower and four sinks, and offers a common lounge that
provides the perfect setting for social activities. Men
and women are housed in separate suites.

& Kitchen
Single rooms with shared
kitchens provide residents the opportunity to save money by
preparing their own meals. Sharing shopping and cook responsibilities
with suitemates is also a great way to enjoy foods from other
countries while spending quality time with new friends.
Cooking suites offer all of the amenities above, but also include
a shared kitchen and dining area equipped with a microwave oven,
dishwasher, stove/oven, sink, garbage disposal and storage cabinets.
The ten single rooms in the cooking suite are identical to the
single rooms described above, but are also furnished with a
small refrigerator.
PRIVATE ROOM
with Private Bath (without kitchen)
International House has 16 private rooms that are 12' x 27'
(3.64m x 8.2m) and fully furnished to accommodate two people.
Each private room has two beds, two dressers, desk, table, chairs,
bookshelves, closets, lamps, small refrigerator and private
bathroom with a toilet, shower and sink. Individuals may
choose to live alone in private rooms, which offer extra space
and privacy.
EFFICIENCY APARTMENT
International House's nine efficiency apartments with outdoor
balconies are available in two sizes: large 17' x 24' (5.15m
x 7.28m) and small 15' x 24' (4.55m x 7.28m), and feature a
combined bedroom/living area, kitchenette (a small kitchen),
dining area and private bathroom with toilet, bathtub/shower
and sink. Each apartment is furnished with a sofa-bed,
desk, table and chairs, dresser, closets and lamps.
ONE BEDROOM APARTMENT
The 24 one bedroom apartments with outdoor balconies are 22'
x 22' (6.67m x 6.67m) and include a living room, kitchenette
(a small kitchen), dining area, separate bedroom and private
bathroom with toilet, bathtub/shower and sink. They are
furnished with two single beds, sofa, desk, table and chairs,
dresser, closets and lamps.
OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS
International
House Philadelphia accepts overnight reservations when space
is available. Overnight guests must be a:
- Student (full- or part-time)
- Conference attendee
- Prospective student coming for an interview
- Faculty member
- Medical Trainee
- Professional Trainee
- Or, academically-affiliated individual
For reservations call (215) 387-5125 between 10am and 5pm EST
on weekdays and ask for the Housing Office. We are happy to
help you! Upon arrival, overnight guests must present
a current student or academic ID. You do not have to secure
the room when you make a reservation, but you will be asked
to specify your length of stay.
Overnight guests
must pay for the entire stay upon arrival. Visa,
Mastercard, American Express, Discover, travelers checks and
cash are accepted for payment. Check-in is after 3pm on
the day of arrival and check-out is by 12 noon on the departure
date. Sorry, no children permitted.
