Miles
From Home
dir.
Ty Hodges, USA, 2006, BetaSP, 97 mins, color
A
pure example of guerrilla filmmaking, Miles From Home
is a tale of lost innocence. Seventeen year old Miles Conway
is forced to fend for himself after his drug addicted mother
walks out on him and his brother. And when he is also abandoned
by his brother, he becomes homeless on the streets of Los Angeles.
Introduced to a group of teenage prostitutes and seduced into
a world of sex, money and drugs, they become his family. Then
he meets Natasha Freeman, a free spirited college student who
shows Miles there is still beauty in life. There is a war within
him and Miles has to make a decision. Will he choose life or
death? Miles quickly learns the greatest fear he will ever have
to face is to confront the person inside.
